Buckie
the Beaver
doesn't
work here.
|
Our
Kiln posts do not look like they were chewed in-half by a
pet beaver.
Our
5/8 inch and thicker shelves are pressed not poured. It's
not the same thing. A 3/4 inch pressed shelf is as strong
or stronger than a poured 1 inch shelf.
We
have pressed 3/4" and 1" shelves in most sizes. |

Notice:
When I asked the manufacture of our shelves if they were "High
Alumina". There response was "Higher than What?"
Good
answer. If you see "High Alumina" shelves for sale,
call and ask the seller for a % of alumina. I'll bet you get
a long pause. |
| We
are not carrying the nitride-bonded sic or
the Advancer because of the fragile nature
of these types of shelves. I do not recommend these types of
shelves for electric kilns. You can buy 2 of the shelves above
for the price of one nitride-bonded shelf. You can buy 7 of
the shelves above for the price of one Advancer. The fail rate
for the nitrides are about 50% in an electric kiln. The Advancers
seem to work OK in Gas kilns but damage in transit water absorption
is a issue. |
