NWA Empty Bowls 2007
Tuesday, November 13, at George's Majestic 6-9p
For the Ozark Foodbank
Empty Bowls where potters and other artists make bowls and then hold a simple soup dinner to raise money for feeding the hungry. Each person who makes a donation of at least $20 receives a gourmet yet simple soup dinner to live music, and gets to pick out a bowl to take home as a reminder of all the empty bowls in the world. This year all of the proceeds go to benefit the Ozark Food Bank.
We are now touching base this Tuesday afternoon with Kelley at Flat Rock Clay
so we all know where we stand and what needs to still get done, and
meeting at 5:30 just before the BMPA meeting this Wednesday Nov 7th.
Volunteers are needed and anyone interested in helping is welcomed to attend.

another 420 arrived today, Oct 23, form Camp War Eagle

OK,
so every once in a great while, a project comes along that
really speaks to us. While I was living in DFW, I became aware
of Empty Bowls. This is something I have wanted to get together
since I moved back. It has all come together along with Suzie
Stephens ,chef extraordinare and Brian Crowne of George's
Majestic Lounge.
We
had a goal of 500 (got 423) bowls this year from local potters
and the public and I was really excited every time I opened
the kiln to see more of bowls created by the public at the
Fine Arts Fest this past Labor Day Weekend. They are
wonderfully creative. We also had additional bowls for the
silent auction including Autographed Celebrity bowls.
Our gourmet $20 Soup Dinner was at George's Majestic
Lounge, Tuesday November 14. We raised just over $10,000
for the homeless center.
