FRC Shipping & Delivery Information

Local Delivery

Note: These are the same Delivery and Shipping policies you'll see other places, but I didn't have time to sugar coat 'em. We don't have a Marketing Manger here.

If you are close and your order is larger than what will fit in a Mini Cooper, say, 500lbs, then we can bring it to you. For a fee of course. We have Small, Medium and Large Trucks. All of which need a driver (me). The trucking is cheap, but I'm costly. It might be cheaper to borrow a buddy's truck. Fees are based on a few things.

1: Distance plus weight.

2: The distance from a paved two lane road to where my truck hits a tree limb.

That's all for the trucking, now me.

3: Do you have a loading dock or forklift? Will the forklift start?

4: Will; You unload, I unload, We unload, or Your Kids unload while we take a look at that new Raku Kiln you built.

5: The distance from the tree limb to where you want the clay.

6: Is it uphill or down hill.

7: Just inside the door or around back, up a ladder, through the bedroom window.

8: Your Schedule or My Schedule.

9: Will you have anything to eat? Homemade Pie? Cold beverages? Satellite TV?

10: Is the forecasted temp below 32deg or above 95deg.

11: Are you a big Tipper?

We can deliver from 500lbs up to 30,000 lbs at a time ASAP or in a Week or Two. Your choice.

Shipping Info

Moist Clay is almost impossible to damage. However some freight companies will try. Central Freight's attempt is shown here. But we could only find one tore bag.

Think Global - Buy Local

If you can, try to buy local. The information you can gain from dealing with a good clay supplier face to face is worth many times what you will save jumping from web site to web site looking for sales. But, if you don't have one close, then we will be glad to help, with a few stipulations.

1: If you need your order right the first time, your in the right place.

2: If you're in a great big hurry, you're in the wrong place. We help those that just walked in the door first, however long it takes. Phone calls come next (that's you). Then, after everyone leaves and the phone stops ringing, we will get your order out.

3: If you can come get it, you'll be better off. (see pics below)

4: If your order is less than $50 we will get you for a $3.95 handling fee plus shipping.

If your order is more than $50 and less than a $100 we will still get you for the $3.95 handling fee plus shipping, but will include a Thank You Note.

If your order is over $100 then we will just do the Thank You Note plus shipping.

5: If you order enough stuff that it has to go by freight truck (kiln, clay, etc) all bets are off, and we will get you for a whole bunch of stuff. However, we can talk about that when you call.

6: Go back and read #3

7: Returns, There is a 20% restocking fee if we got it right. We do a voice stress analyses on returns. We will know if you really said cone 06 instead of 6. If we got it wrong then you can spank us and we will take care of it. Let us know within 30 days.

8: No returns on things like a Custom Skutt 12-48-6 w/chrome alloy wheels and spinners-480volt-18 phase that we ordered just for you. Let's take a little time and get it right before you order.

9: If you're in Arkansas, then we have to collect sales tax - unless you have a Resale Certificate. Notice I didn't say number, we need a copy of the certificate itself. Then we will make you fill out a form that says "I'm buying this stuff to resale" or is it resell?

10: Are you sure you can't come get it? We would like to meet you. Fayetteville is a great place to visit. Stop in and I'll buy you a cup of coffee.

Liquids: Don't even get me started! We will do our very best to package your glazes, etc so that you get at least 50% of the order with out a leak. But one driver, new to our country, told me that FRAGILE was Russian for "This side down on bottom of stack"

One more thing. Moist Clay is heavy. A 50lb box of clay weighs 50lbs!

I know, $14.95 is cheap for the clay but UPS will want more than that to deliver it.

It's not us, we don't mark up the shipping.

Below are a few photos of things you should look for BEFORE signing for a shipment.

Slight wrinkles in boxes that may indicate hidden damage.
Boxes that may have shifted during high speed maneuvering, dropped cell phone, convertible and a short dress, etc.
Slight seepage from boxes containing liquids.
Dry stuff that may have been a liquid at one time that's not supposed to be dry now.

It didn't leave here looking like that.

If you sign the ticket, you're on your own.

Are you absolutely sure you don't want to come get it?
